DCFBHH: TenPenh - Federal Triangle, DC

My 1st DC Food Blogger Happy Hour was at the Pan-Asian restaurant TenPenh. The DCFBHH location changes monthly, but it's a great way for people to put faces to blogs and try new restaurants at the same time.
Located at 10th and Pennsylvania (hence the name), there is street, garage, and $7 valet parking. The closest metro stops would be Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter on the yellow/green line, and Federal Triangle on the Orange/Blue.

This is the bar area, which is pretty big considering this is only 1/2 the room. Us bloggers took up most of the space!

Their Happy Hour menu consists of $5 drink specials and a Small Plate menu.
I came to DCFBHH with an old college friend/food blogger Maiya of Beans, Rice, Life. We both ordered the 'Asian Mojito (Fresh Mint, Lime, Pear Sake, Ginger-Limeade)' for $9.95. It was the most refreshing mojito I've ever had! Granted, it didn't seem that strong to me, but I thought it tasted delicious.

We also couldn't decide what to order, so we ordered the sampler, 'TenPenh “Pupu Platter” (Spring rolls, Chicken Wings, Tempura Shrimp, Satay, BBQ Ribs)' for $19. I liked the spring rolls the best. She liked the tempura shrimp the best. The others were a bit dry. The sauces (fish sauce, creamy, and chili duck sauce) helped though. The presentation was really cool! The food was on a revolving platter with a flame in the center.

I can't wait for next month's DCFBHH at Poste! I didn't get to really mingle or take pictures with anyone this time, but this won't be my last.
